Chad and Grace Smith, along with 1 full-time employee and 1 part-time employee.
Chad and Grace started Yerba Buena Tea Co. in 2013 based on their mutual passion for artisan teas and love of San Francisco. The couple hand-blends loose leaf organic teas based on their wellness philosophy promoting healthy living through whole, organic ingredients. Yerba Buena offers over 40 varieties of black, green, herbal, and red teas using unique herbs that are difficult to find in other tea companies without the use of flavorings.
Yerba Buena only sources organic, non-GMO, and fair trade ingredients and always sources locally when possible. Many herbs they use come from farms in Northern California and Oregon. They choose farms that have the highest standard of quality, are certified organic, and salmon safe. They also encourage customers to reuse their tea canisters by purchasing refill bags.
The settlement of San Francisco was originally called Yerba Buena for the aromatic plant that grew along its shores.
