Cocktail: Scallywag Punch



1 ½ ounces Bacardi 8
¾ ounce Five spice syrup
1 ounce pineapple juice
¼ ounce fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
Muddled strawberry

Five spice syrup
5 pepper corns
2 whole cinnamon sticks
8 cloves
1 ¼ teaspoons of fennel
1 whole star anise


Muddle 1 strawberry in a pint glass. Add Bacardi, spice syrup, pineapple, lime and grapefruit juice. Add ice. Shake and strain into a highball with fresh ice. Garnish with a Strawberry and lime slice.

For the Five spice simple syrup

Add all ingredients into a pot with 1 ½ cups of water. Simmer for about 20 min, cut the heat and strain so all you’re left with is liquid. While the liquid is still hot add equal parts of all natural sugar and stir until it dissolves.  Let cool and transfer to a squeeze bottle. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
