Dave Stockdale, Executive Director
Dave StockdaleDave is responsible for overall organizational development and coordination. He previously served as executive director of Hughson Botanical Garden (CA), and as director of San Antonio Botanical Garden (TX). Additional experiences include coordinating professional and public education programs for the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture, managing a retail landscape nursery, serving as an agricultural extension agent, and working in horticultural therapy. Dave earned a BS in Agriculture from Purdue University and an MS in Biology from the University of Houston.

Christine Farren, Director of Development
Christine FarrenChristine Farren organizes our fundraising events, annual appeal and annual reports, and sponsorship programs. Christine feels that shopping at a farmers market is one of the most life affirming and community building activities possible, and enjoys interfacing with numerous members of the food community here in San Francisco. She holds a BA in American Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Liz Hunt, Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Her culinary passion was shaped by her youth in Davis, California, where she foraged and cooked seasonal produce from her neighborhood gardens and orchards and worked at farmers markets during the summer. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy.

Melissa Eckert, Administrative & Events Coordinator

Previously a Ferry Plaza Farmers Market patron and volunteer for more than 10 years, she is a lover of all things food-related from farm to table and an avid believer in the importance of sustainable living. She holds a BA in Psychology and a MPH in Community Health from Saint Louis University.

Julie Cummins, Director of Education
sites/default/files/julie_new_0.jpgJulie has more than ten years of experience coordinating and leading education programs in the fields of ecology, open space and agricultural preservation, wise urban planning, recycling and resource conservation, sustainable living, and garden education. She has worked for a number of Bay Area nonprofit organizations, most recently Greenbelt Alliance. Julie earned a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley and is certified in permaculture design and as a Master Composter.

Elianna Friedman, Market Chef
sites/default/files/elianna_friedman2_1.jpgElianna coordinates our in-market weekly cooking programs, monthly seasonal celebrations, and Foodwise Kids, as well as the culinary components of  major fundraising events such as Summer Celebration, and Sunday Supper. Elianna has previously worked as the market director for the New Taste Marketplace, as a student and family culinary educator at Congregation Beth El, and as a senior program coordinator at the San Francisco Food Bank. In addition to her culinary degree, she also holds a MBA in Nonprofit Management.

Brie Mazurek, Online Education Manager

She also manages CUESA's social media presence through Twitter, Facebook, and other online channels. Previously, she has worked as a cookbook editor, been a farm apprentice, managed communications for the educational initiative Nourish, and volunteered with various community food projects in the Bay Area. When not at the farmers market, she enjoys nurturing a scrappy container garden on her apartment deck.

Michelle Venetucci Harvey, Education Programs Coordinator

She received a BA in Community, Environment, and Planning from the University of Washington in 2011 and previously served as Outreach Director for the UW Farm. A Seattle native, Michelle helped start a number of urban farms before moving to the Bay Area. She loves getting to know the people who grow her food and working with great volunteers.

Dexter Carmichael, Director of Operations

He has over twenty years of experience in the produce industry including working with Greenleaf Produce, Real Foods, and Whole Foods Markets where he was the National Produce Trucking Coordinator. Dexter has also been involved with various sustainable agriculture projects including the Farm-Restaurant Project, Tasting of Summer Produce, and the Steering Committee for Sustainable Agriculture.

Lulu Meyer, Associate Director of Operations
sites/default/files/lulu_new.jpgLulu is responsible for all administrative aspects and management of the day-to-day operations for the Ferry Plaza Farmers Markets. Over the last 8 years she has developed and refined CUESA’s Chef Shopping Program which helps to encourage and facilitate the sourcing of local farm product by Bay Area Chefs, caterers and artisanal food producers. A native San Franciscan, Lulu studied at the California Culinary Academy and had worked in the restaurant industry for more than ten years before coming to CUESA.. Being surrounded by all of our wonderful farmers, local chefs and food savvy customers at a beautiful San Francisco landmark building is the highlight of Lulu’s week.

Melanie Bourgeois, Info Booth Coordinator
Melanie manages the Info Booth at the Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday markets. Her passion for food started with a weight loss journey and quickly became a learning frenzy. Helping people find treasures and discussing food preparations at the market allows her to share her passion. Originally a high school history teacher, she grew up on a small farm in Magdalen Island, Quebec, and earned a BA in education at the UQAR in Rimouski.
