This recipe was demonstrated for CUESA's Market to Table program on May 26, 2012.
1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
¼ cup almonds or walnuts (or 2 tablespoons hemp protein powder + 2 tablespoons flax meal, or 2 tablespoons brown rice protein powder)
1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
½ to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, to taste
½ cup ice
1 cup filtered water
Thermo Charger variation: Substitute water for 1 cup brewed green tea or ½ teaspoon matcha powder in 1 cup water.
Super Power Pac variation: Add 1 teaspoon spirulina or 1 teaspoon chlorella powder.
Place all ingredients, including green tea and spirulina, if using, into your high-speed blender. Blend until smooth. The smoothie will keep for 2 days in the fridge.
