PEOPLE: Aidells employs over 200 people. Kathleen de Wilbur manages farmers’ market sales in the Bay Area. ABOUT: Bruce Aidells began making sausage in his home kitchen in 1983. What began as a very small operation has expanded to become America's largest gourmet sausage company with a line of over 30 sausages and other products, manufactured in several plants across the United States. Bruce Aidells has become known as America's Sausage King and has written many books and articles on the subjects of meat and sausage. He sold his interest in the company in the early 2002. The company's goal has always been to produce original and delicious sausages. SOURCING: Poultry and pork come from many different suppliers, varying from region to region. Other ingredients, including fruits and vegetables, are sourced domestically when possible. Aidells sells 3 certified organic and 10 antibiotic-free, all-natural sausages. They always use natural casing and never use binders or fillers. |
