The First Annual Ferry Building Cookbook Festival

The Ferry Building and CUESA team up for a day highlighting cookbooks and authors!  

Who hasn’t fallen under the spell of a cookbook? We have all been drawn in by the luscious photos, the heartfelt descriptions of each dish, the earnest wisdom of an author who is willing to impart their insight on flavors, temperatures and accompaniments. The Ferry Building Merchants will celebrate the cookbooks that inspire them on Saturday, September 17th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each shop will feature a cookbook, or a special food item from a cookbook. Some shops will even feature cookbooks that the shop owners have written – Miette Patisserie, Imperial Tea and Recchiuti Confections to name a few. At 11 a.m. please join famed Chocolatier Michael Recchiuti of Recchiuti Confections in the CUESA Kitchen for a cooking demo featuring seasonal bounty from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Following the demo Michael Recchiuti will be available to sign copies of his book, Chocolate Obsession. Please join us as we recognize the authors, chefs, photographers, editors, publishers and illustrators who have nourished so many of us with their culinary wisdom.
